Will I get paid for my excess energy?
Any power you produce which you do not use within your home is exported back to the national grid. They will buy back your excess solar power.
Value added to your property
Solar power panels can add a significant amount of value to your property. As fuel prices increase so will the value of having a renewable energy source for your home.
Feed-in Tariff (FIT)
From April 2011, the government will pay you 43.3p per kilowatt of solar power you produce, whether or not you use the power.
The FIT payment you receive will vary depending on the size of your solar panel system, however you can earn up to and beyond £1400 tax free per year.
